Fin!

Welcome to monday the 18th and another week of the Chronicles. Today's page will be up tonight, took me a little while to finish it up due to the fact that I'm working out how to finish the first chapter. The whole thing is written ahead of time but it is not always planned ahead how the story will advance page by page. Looks like tonight's installment will be the last of Chapter One: Prologue.

Wed. the 20th we will begin Chapter Two: Genesis. For those of you who are hoping for some insight into how Alex wound up in this whole mess in the first place, you won't be in the dark for much longer. See you later tonight.

Overload!

Today's page will be uploaded this evening as I had to stay at work late last night and as a result will have to finish the next page this afternoon.

Chapter 1 is almost complete. Can't wait for number 2 as several questions will finally be answered. Hope you're having fun. See you tonight.

A few words with a master

I had the pleasure of meeting Michael Turner yesterday evening. For those of you not familiar with him or his work, he is a very distinguished comic artist over at Image Comics and his work is a tremendous influence on my own. He's a really great, down-to-earth guy, and he allowed me to pick his brain for a while... things I hope to use to make the Nova Chronicles even better. If you're a fan of this feature, or comic books in general, do yourself a favor and check his work out. Thanks Mike.

A Second Wind

All right, I know! The update schedule has been less than impressive as of late. It seems to be the result of just too much going on at one time. So, with that in mind, I am taking the needed steps to assure that the comic is given the proper amount of time needed each week to keep updates on time. I plan on going somewhere big with the Nova Chronicles and I feel it's about time I showed it. I cannot promise that there won't be future snags for time to time but I will tell you that it will be a vast improvemnet over what it's been.

Also, a million thanks to all of those who have taken the time and care to write me a little note telling me how you have enjoyed the Nova Chronicles. These last couple of weeks have been rough at times and you might not know how flattered I have been by your kind words and I would like to address this now by making sure you know each one is read and appreciated.

I'm not sure how much attention people give to this newsbox. I'm hoping quiet a number of you. It is becoming more of a valuable tool to me to keep in touch with my readers. Expect far more updates posted here in the future as the new commitment schedule to the Chronicles kicks things into overdrive.

Well that's all for now. Keep those letters coming, I want to hear more feedback and PLEASE, help the NC out by voting for it on the webcomic lists by clicking on the little colored boxes to the left. You might not realize how much this helps me out.

Take Care. -Tyler

A moment for artistic merit.

For those of you wondering why there is no new page today, I needed a bit longer for a slight re-write of the next page or two. I just wasn't satisfied with the way the stand-off between Bailee, Alex and the Police was headed. I've got a much better solution and am in the process of bringing it to pencil-and-paper life as I write this. I should have it up around midnight or at the latest tomorrow morning. If you're disappointed by another delay just remember that it's all for the greater good of providing you, the reader, with the finest comic I can. And remember, all of you aspiring artists out there: Good writing skills are not just for use in your comic, but also in explaining the lack thereof :). See you in a few hours and thanks!

Buried!

Welcome to November!

I apologize for the lack of a new page on Friday the 1st. Real-world responsibilities have been crowding into my drawing time. Everything is back on track and I'll have a new page up tomorrow, Monday the 4th. My thanks for everyone who reads the NC and is patient with me concerning these occasional set-backs! See you tomorrow.

Growing Pains

Hi Everyone.
Been a while since I dropped a newspost. I want to thank everyone who has been reading the Nova Chronicles over the last few months. And I would like to extend a very sincere "THANKS" to those who have sent me E-mail telling me what they think about the Chronicles. Things have come together well and continue to grow. Scott has done a fantastic job keeping the site in top-running form and it's just so exciting to watch the readership numbers climb. The first chapter is close to completion and the next two are already written, waiting to be drawn. Now if I can just find the time. Those real-life responsiblities keeping cutting into "comic time".

Speaking of which you'll have to excuse the lack of a new page on Friday the 11th. Just too much going on, a lot of it Nova related. Rather than post the next update late on Saturday or Sunday, I have opted to just save it and allow this weekend for catch-up time and start fresh next week. Thanks for understanding. See you on Monday. Have a great weekend!

Back On Track

Updates are back on schedule. Thanks for putting up with the delays.

Now I've got to get back to work on the next page.

Extra Goodies

Hi everyone! Last week the Nova Chronicles achieved a major milestone...our very first piece of fan art! This wicked pic is courtesy of the lovely Annie VanderMeer of I'm Blue, one of the first sites to link to us. Many thanks to her for a fine piece of work!

I'll be working on a "Special" section of the site to house fan art and other pics that don't fit into the story of the Nova Chronicles, such as Tyler's very-cool September 11th tribute. Watch for it in the near future.

Ironing out some snags in the system.

I apologize for the less than consistent updates this week. Page 1.25 will be posted this evening (Wednesday the 18th) and a return to the regular updating on friday with The Vindicator's daring escape from the Cat's Eye. Monday will kick off the next scenario scene.

Thanks to all of those who have supported the Nova Chronicles thus far and continue to come back for more. I won't leave you hanging for long. I Promise!

Loose Ends

Hi Everyone.
Page updates are going to be a little off this week, Tuesday and Thursday to be exact. Hope this doesn't cause too much confusion. Next week should be back to the MWF schedule. Speaking of which, what's the verdict? Did you like it better the old way, all at once on Mondays? Drop me a line and let me know.

In the meantime, a few issues I'd like to address:

Link buttons will be available very soon for those wishing to link to the Nova Chronicles from their sites(Thanks).

I am starting an e-mail list for the Nova Chronicles. Just a better way to communicate with those who wish to get any and all Nova Chronicles info first. Any big news, future changes, product information, opinion surveys, etc. will be addressed through this list before it hits this newpost. If you are interested just send me an e-mail with your name and e-mail address. Please know that this list will be kept privite and will never be sold to future advertisers or anyone else.

The little link to the left of this post is for the Funny Papers Top 100, A listing site for webcomics. I ask you to help me out by clicking on it for the benefit of the NC. When you do, the NC gets another vote and thus increases its rank in the list, thus creating more exposer, thus building a higher readership. You can vote once per day so if you wouldn't mind taking a few seconds out of your time when you come back for updates it would mean a lot. Thanks so much. See you on Thursday the 5th. Take Care.

New Update Schedule: MWF

Welcome to week six. As of this week, The Nova Chronicles has undergone a change to its update schedule. Rather than updating 2-4 pages on Monday, we will now be posting 1-2 new pages each Monday, Wednesday and Friday. For now, this can be considered a trial run for the new schedule. Thanks to all those who dropped me a line last week expressing their opinion in this matter. See you on Wednesday.

Update Changes - Calling for Feedback

Currently the Nova Chronicles updates new pages once a week on Mondays. I am contemplating making a change to this schedule and need some feedback. I want to know what would be a preferred method of updating for those who return each week for more: Should the NC stay as is, updated with two to four new pages every Monday? Or would you prefer one new page every Mon. Wed. and Fri.? Drop me a line at tyler@novachronicles.com and let me know. Just put "Once a Week" or "MWF" as the subject of your email, no further message is required. Enough response one way or the other will result in a change so let me know. The readers make this comic successful and I want it to be available to them in the best way possible

In the meantime, if this is your first time visiting the Nova Chronicles, I hope you'll check out the story so far in the Archive. See you tomorrow. Have a great week.

Page Navigation

Due to overwhelming popular demand (okay, two comments), there now exist Previous and Next links at the top of each page in addition to way down at the bottom. Let it never be said we don't know a good idea when we hear it. :) Click here to see them in action, and use them wisely.

Welcome to The Nova Chronicles

Welcome. Thanks for checking out the Nova Chronicles. Launched July 22nd, 2002, this is going to be a lot of fun for both of us. The Nova Chronicles is a fresh look at the classic, melodramatic comic book themes of the past, but all done with a modern look and attitude. Each week we will be updating the site with several new pages allowing the adventure to unfold.

Since this is the first week, I invite you to look around the site and check out the various features available for interaction. Read the first week's pages, learn about the characters in detail in the Character Menu, and don't forget to leave us some feedback in the forum. The Nova Chronicles was designed with the readers in mind, and as such, we need your reactions to help it become the greatest saga on the net.
